  • "I would like to highly recommend Sunset Manner to anyone searching for a home for their loved one. My husband and I have gone through this searching process three times for our parents and know that it is challenging. We placed our mom in Sunset Manner over a year ago. It is a beautiful home with gorgeous mountain views. Our mom enjoys watching the hot air balloons and the numerous birds and butterflies. Her room is spacious with a lovely patio, where she enjoys visiting and reading among her numerous plants and decorations. Each of the rooms face a large courtyard, with fruit trees, a fountain, and comfortable furniture. This provides an indoor area for mom to walk safely during increment weather to get her exercise and relaxation. The facility is not only beautiful, but is kept spotless and has a pleasant smell throughout. Mom enjoys the delicious homemade meals that are served family style. It has been a blessing to not have any residents suffer with COVID, due to the owner and staff's diligence. Wise precautions have been taken, but we were never prevented from visiting our mother. We cannot say enough about the wonderful setting that mom is enjoying. The staff is proficient and kind. Maria, the owner, is careful to communicate with the family. She sends pictures of different gathering events. Family members are alerted when their loved one is not feeling well, needs supplies or medication. We are greeted by name and genuinely included into the household. The residents enjoy gathering together weekly to be entertained by a gifted musician, who interacts with them in a friendly manner. Every other week, they are challenged to an art project or a game of BINGO. Our family is confident that mom is in good hands at Sunset Manor. We would encourage family members to check out this beautiful, welcoming home."

  • "In mid 2016 at 83 years old my Dad was diagnosed with sensory polyneuropathy which affected and retarded his balance. He could walk but had difficulty with stairs and getting in and out of his car smoothly. In January of 2018 at the age of 85 my dad had a severe stroke which affected his right arm and leg. He also had a severe case of post stroke fatigue and was constantly tired. He went through rehab and needed a walker to get around and needed help getting dressed. My mother was capable of handling his needs. In March of 2020 at the age of 87 my dad fell and broke his femur bone in his leg. While in the hospital he caught Covid 19. Upon his release he was very weak, and he had difficulty with short term memory. He returned home wheelchair bound and went through rehab. After about 4 months my 88yr old mother tried to take care of him but the burden was to great. My father was always tired and preferred to stay in bed all day. Getting him in and out of the shower was difficult and dangerous. As a consequence he was not well groomed. We decided to move may Dad into Sunset Manor to get him the care taking he needed. Maria the owner is very hands on and does a fantastic job catering to the needs of my father. He is on a 3 meal a day schedule, he is always properly bathed, gets timely haircuts, his medications are administered on time and I am notified if any prescriptions need to be ordered. Sunset Manor is a beautiful facility. My mother often visits and sits and talks to my Dad on the out door patio. We are very happy with the care my father is getting at Sunset Manor. He is much healthier than he was when he living at home."

  • "Over the last 10 years Maria Istrate has been the caretaker for three of my family members. We first met when my Grandpa couldn’t live by himself anymore and needed full time care. Maria was recommended to us by a close friend and we turned over his primary care to her and her staff. A few years later, my Grandmother was in the same need for continuous care and we didn’t hesitate for a moment to see if Maria had an opening, which she did, and we jumped at the opportunity. In November of 2020, my father-in-law was not able to care for himself and yet again, we reached out to Maria and as fortune would have it, she had an available space for him. Maria’s residence is first class all the way. Each guest has their own private, spacious room with its own AC/Heating unit. The bathroom is very large and the shower is handicap accessible. Closet and storage space is quite ample. A large community dining and entertaining area is provided as well. Maria schedules special events and meals on the Holidays and special occasions. An in-house salon is also available and salon activities can be scheduled. Monthly visits from a medical professional are also provided on a monthly basis. If a medical issue arises, a doctor will come to the house. A large courtyard complete with a beautiful fountain as well as an outside entertainment area is available to the guests. The kitchen is huge and the staff prepare taste and healthy home cooked meals every day. I can’t say enough about Maria and her staff. They have treated my family members like one of their own. On their birthdays, Maria makes sure they feel special by serving cake, ice cream and blowing out candles. The staff is just fantastic. Always cheerful with a warm hello. They are so very patient with my father-in-law, even at the occasional times when he gets a little grumpy. There are not enough kind words to describe Maria. She truly loves what she does and she loves the guests that stay in her home. The love and respect she has for my family members is inspiring. Our gratitude for her and her staff is endless. I would not hesitate to recommend Maria, her staff, and lovely home to anybody that is looking for a friendly, clean, and safe home for their loved ones."
